Same-sex marriage, also known as gay marriage, is marriage between two people of the same sex that is legally and/or socially recognized. These relationships also sometimes include include civil unions, domestic partnerships, and civil partnerships. Same sex marriage has gained some acceptance over the last couple of decades.
