Who was the verified tallest man of all time?

User Avatar
The tallest person in history for whom there is irrefutable evidence was Robert Pershing Wadlow who stood 8 ft 11.1 inches (2.72m). He had problems standing and had an operation to fit a brace to his leg. On July 4, 1940, while making a professional appearance at the National Forest Festival, a faulty brace irritated his ankle, causing a blister and subsequent infection. Doctors treated him with a blood transfusion and emergency surgery, but his condition worsened and on July 15, 1940, he died in his sleep. He was 22. IS'NT THAT JUST SAD L.J

What’s the longest anyone has ever held a plank?

User Avatar
George Hood currently holds the record for longest plank at a whopping eight hours, 15 minutes and 15 seconds. So yeah, just a little bit longer than your record. For women, the record is four hours, 19 minutes and 55 seconds, and it was set by Dana Glowacka in 2019. I anticipate your next question is, “How?” because an eight-hour plank sounds pretty impossible. Leading up to his record plank, Hood trained for about seven hours a day, doing 700 push-ups, 2,000 crunches, 500 toe squats, 500 band curls, 30 minutes of cardio, and four to five hours of planking. So, if you’re looking to plank for hours instead of minutes, good luck with that.

Who is the oldest person alive now and has ever lived?

User Avatar
As of 02/02/2013 it's Japan's Jiroemon Kimura at 115 years, born April 19th, 1897 It should be at least mentioned (since he was mentioned in previous friendus), there was Nasir Al Hazry from the United Arab Emirates, who (in 2008) claimed to be 135 years old, but apparently there were no birth records to back up his claim. The article from 2008 that can be found online even suggests his own family didn't know how old he claimed to be. (How could your own family not know your age?) He'd of course be 139/140 in 2013 but there doesn't seem to be any information available about him after the 2008 article, so most likely he's a fraud. The oldest documented person (sorry Nasir & you too Methuselah) to have ever lived was Jeanne Calment from France (February 21, 1875 to August 4th 1997), who lived 122 years 164 days.

What is the toughest academic course according to the Guinness Book of World Records 2011?

User Avatar
The Guinness Book of World Records does not rank toughness of courses. Recently Facebook users have been posting statuses bragging that their field of study in college was ranked the toughest by the Guinness Book of World Records. The status usually looks like this: "Engineering" has been chosen as the 'toughest' course among all the courses including BCOM, BCA, IAS, IPS and MBBS; by the Guinness Book of World Records, on 18 Aug 2010. It has 58 university exams + 130 series exams + 174 assignments within 4 years (max. 750 working days). All engineers post this on your wall for at least 2 hours & be proud to be an engineer!... Problem is, Guinness does not keep such records about the "toughness" of college courses/fields of study. That said, here are some courses Facebook users have claimed are the toughest, based on number of exams, assignments and years to complete. Bachelors of Science in Nursing Bachelor of Science in Architecture Bachelor of Science in Engineering One "course" the Guinness Book does rank, is the longest golf course in the world: the par-72, 8,548 yard Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Golf Club in Lijiang, China.
