How many grams of cinnamon does a teaspoon hold?

User Avatar
You cannot directly really convert g (a solid measurement) to ml or teaspoonfuls (a liquid measurement). In an ounce, however, is 30ml or 28.3g. 30 ml is 2 tablespoonfuls, 3 teaspoonfuls in a tablespoon. I would say it is approximately 5g since there are 5ml in a teaspoonful and 28.3 and 30 aren't too far apart.

Is honey and cinnamon a hoax?

User Avatar
Honey is almost entirely composed of different sugars, with water and trace minerals. Excess sugar (and we really get enough carbohydrates of different sorts in our diet anyway) gets stored as fat. So this diet cannot work unless you reduce your food intake to compensate for the excess sugar you are consuming. Certain types of cinnamon may well have useful properties that might influence insulin levels, but probably not at the recommended concentrations. So this diet is more likely to help you gain weight, and has the added disadvantage that you'll be damaging your teeth, suppressing your immune system, and all the other health problems associated with excess sugar consumption.

Even the lowest amount of cinnamon, 1 gram per day (approximately ¼ to ½ teaspoon), produced an approximately 20% drop in blood sugar; cholesterol and triglycerides were lowered as well. When daily cinnamon was stopped, blood sugar levels began to increase.

What the difference between ground cinnamon and cinnamon powder?

User Avatar
I'm not aware of any difference. Decades ago terms like "finely powdered" were standardized terms that referred to the size of pharmacist's sieve the product could pass through. Today, though, I'm not aware of any difference between "cinnamon powder" and "ground cinnamon".

Is it possible to pass the cinnamon challenge?

User Avatar
Yes! It is possible to pass the cinnamon challenge, even though it is difficult to do so. The dry texture and spice makes it hard to hold down without spitting or vomiting the cinnamon out, but if you toughen out the first ten seconds, you can force it down, although it is highly recommended to prepare milk and water before you do the challenge. Water is handy to wash out the cinnamon, although sometimes it doesn't diffuse the spice of the cinnamon and is likely to cause you to vomit or at least expel the spice. Milk diffuses most of the spice and washes out the cinnamon, but due to the high fat content it is possible that one can vomit anyway. In conclusion, despite the obvious difficulty of the challenge, one can pass the cinnamon challenge. Personally it's an almost horrific experience to just attempt the challenge itself, but I have passed it and I'm sure anyone else could too. Because of its powdery texture, attempting to down Chinese stomach powder medicine is similar to downing cinnamon. If you have experience with such powders, the cinnamon challenge suddenly becomes a breeze. So yes, it is possible to pass the cinnamon challenge
