Why is Seal's face scarred?
One of the most frequent questions you hear about Grammy-winning singer Seal is, "What happened to Seal's face?" Seal is famous for singing "Kiss From a Rose" and other award-winning songs. But he is also well-known for his visible facial scarring. Lines of scarring are clearly visible on both sides of his face. (To see a close-up image of Seal's face, click on the Related Link.) Speculating About What Happened to Seal's Countenance It is easy to speculate about Seal's scars. The raised lines of scarring look like something you might get in a knife fight resulting in scars. The scars might also look like scars from a car accident or similar mishap causing scars. Jet magazine quotes Seal as saying: "People want the scars to be tribal scars. That's just the nature of the media and of people's imaginations." Source: Celebrities Who Have Overcome Obstacles, Jet, June 10, 1996, available at books.google.com. What Really Happened to Seal's Countenance But Seal's scars are not the result of violence. Jet reported that Seal's facial scars are the result of the disease lupus. At age 23, Seal developed discoid lupus erythematosus (DLE), a rare form of the disease causing scars. Source: Celebrities Who Have Overcome Obstacles, Jet, June 10, 1996, available at books.google.com. According to The Lupus Book, only ten percent of lupus patients have DLE. Thick, scaly lesions appear on these patients' skin, especially skin that is exposed to sunlight. If untreated, the lesions can turn cancerous. Source: Daniel J. Wallace, The Lupus Book, 4th ed., Oxford University Press, pages 70-71. Lupus is an auto-immune disease that is passed down genetically. It is unknown when Seal's Lupus developed. A number of on-line sources claim that Seal developed lupus as an infant or as a teen (e.g., as of April 5, 2009, Wikipedia's entry for Seal claims the disease presented itself when Seal was a teen, though no sources are cited). I have not found any authoritative source for that claim. As cited previously, Jet magazine claims Seal did not show signs of the disease until age 23. This claim is consistent with public comments Seal has made. Discoid Lupus is a chronic skin condition of sores with inflammation and scarring favoring the face, ears, and scalp and at times on other body areas. The exact cause of this auto-immune disease is unknown. Seal Samuel has a skin ailment called discoid lupus. There is a half moon scar that lies under his eyes due to this ailment. But this scar it seems had begun to form since his childhood days.

Do you plan to continue acting as an adult? Yes! I plan to go to film school after I'm done with college. I was thinking about either NYU or USC, depending if I want to leave home or not, because I know they both have amazing film schools. I want to become a producer and director and writer in the future when I grow up and kind of do a little bit of everything. I definitely want to stay in the entertainment industry and also stay in acting. I just love it. Every time I go to work, I have the time of my life. Every single time. It's just something that if I wasn't doing it, I would feel like there's something missing in my life.
How do you contact a celebrity?
Most celebrities have official fan clubs and official websites so these should always be your first port of call. On Wikifriendus, you can find many official fan mailing addresses in specific questions matching the following: "What is <celebrity name>'s official fan mail address?" Official websites are always the most reliable source of information and many can be found with the following question: "What is <celebrity name>'s official website?" Note that a lot of celebrity fan websites are actually run by the fans themselves, and are not regarded as official celebrity websites. However, some may be approved by the celebrity in which case they will make it abundantly clear to all visitors exactly who they are and how to contact the site's operators. If the celebrity has an official website then they must include a link to it. Another good source for contact information is the FanMail biz website (see related links below), which often lists the official celebrity website if one exists, as well as any known agency contact addresses and websites. Fan clubs Official fan clubs may have phone numbers or e-mail addresses, but the vast majority will use a mailing PO box address only, particularly if the celebrity is extremely popular. Even if a phone number, e-mail address or mail address exists for an official fan club, you cannot expect the celebrity to answer you personally. Some do make the effort but, in general, they will have a public relations team to handle their fan mail. Most fan clubs will require that you include international reply coupons (IRCs) and a self-addressed envelope (SAE). Many will send signed photographs and autographs upon request. Depending on the popularity of the celebrity, you may receive a personal reply from the celebrity themselves. Personal contact information Note that you cannot expect to find any personal or private telephone numbers, e-mail addresses or postal addresses here on Wikifriendus, both for celebrities and non-celebrities alike. Any that you do come across should be treated with the utmost caution as they are almost always fake, particularly free e-mail addresses such as yahoo, hotmail, and gmail which anyone can set up to pretend to be someone else. Remember that celebrities value what little privacy they have, so they are highly unlikely to reveal any private, personal contact details to the world in general.

Is Kanye West a musical genius?
The use of the word "genius" is often debated; some feel that the potency of the word's intended meaning has been diluted by over-usage. The history of Western music has included many talents who pushed the boundaries of what audiences thought possible at the time, such as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven, Charlie Parker, Miles Davis, John Cage, and many more. These artists might be considered geniuses today for their effect on music's direction as a whole, so to judge a current artist's level of "genius" might be difficult before their discography is complete and the total effect they have on artists to come can be fully appreciated. In Kanye West's specific case, he's called himself "a God" (even releasing a song in reference to this claim), and has also self-identified as a genius on multiple occasions. His arrogant attitude has definitely led people to question him, but putting that aside, what has Kanye accomplished musically? The gold standard of awards in the music industry is the GRAMMYs, of which he's received the seventh-most in history. As of 2019, Kanye has won 21 GRAMMYs from 69 total nominations. On a side note, this Community Manager definitely thinks Kanye has the gifts to be considered genius. His understanding of production and the ways that he's explored the possibilities within music production is truly new and innovative. I look forward to new releases of his always, because he continues to push his own boundaries and release music like I've never heard before.

What motivated you to write "The EveryGirl's Guide to Diet and Fitness: How I Lost 40 lbs and Kept it Off-And How You Can Too!"? I love sharing information which is why I love reporting. I'm also constantly asked by friends and fans how I lost the weight. But more than anything, I love helping people-especially women. And I know most women don't have a lot of free time or money or even willpower to get fit. All those factors are crippling to getting in shape. I know from personal experience. When I was 40 pounds overweight, I was working two jobs and going to school full time. Beyond being broke and overwhelmed, I also lacked the willpower to stay on any official diet for more than two days. However, during that time, through much trial and error, I found a way to overcome those obstacles, lose the weight and keep it off. I want to share what I did so other women can overcome similar obstacles to get fit and healthy.
