Invest in the Pony Express. Seriously, though, I would start writing a lot more letters and subscribe to a lot more magazines. I'd really miss all the pop culture news on the web.

There's so much to learn and while it wouldn't be as fun because you won't get lead into the alley ways, but life would still be amazingly interesting.

I would probably spend more time writing letters to family or friends. Maybe I would spend more time playing tag or Hide and seek with my siblings. Take some naps =b. That's what I would do if there was no internet.

"What would I do if the internet were suddenly gone?"

Honestly, I wouldn't know what to do with my life.

I purchased my first computer (a Commodore 64) in 1982. Since then I have never been away from a computer for more than 10 days in a row during my entire life. In fact for the last 12 years, I've seldom spent less than 10 hours a day in front of some sort of digital screen learning about life, the world, and myself. In that time I've read hundreds of books and thousands of magazines, journals and newspaper articles online.

I first began by studying on my own and later by participating in online classes, may of them streamed from some of the most prestigious universities in the world. My intent was to at least become reasonably familiar with almost every academic discipline humankind has set its mind to understanding: Science, Literature, Psychology, History, Law, Sociology, Medicine, Music et al. Looking back I now realize, there simply is no other way I could have more efficiently and effectively served my need to understand "the meaning of it all" than by accessing the internet.

I'm a a polymath, and like others of my kind, I truly wanted and tried hard to know everything about everything. Of course I failed. But being able to acquire so much information so quickly has allowed me to make some sense out of the way the world runs, and why we human-beings do the things we do.

I know that most who read this will think I have spent a life that was never truly lived. But it honestly doesn't seem that way when I examine my life. For me "knowing" has always been synonymous with "being". Because based on my research, it appears that increasing our consciousness is the primary reason for our existence.

Thanks to the internet all of the world's knowledge and every human experience, both long abandoned and current, has been transformed into something easily accessible ... and all of it is just a keyboard's click away.

I have gone completely OFF the grid many times! You find many other things to keep busy with. I read more books, crochet and get outdoors more. Seeking employment is the most useful thing to use the internet for. I guess we would go back to in person, paper applications.

I wouldn't care.. i don't really spend alot of time on the computer. I have to admit that I love to shop online & get things that way, saves alot of time from having to go to stores.. I'm in my 40's & we didn't have any computers or anything digital, etc.. growing up so we used all normal things & I could go back to those things. I LOVE word search puzzles & watching movies. I like going to the library when it's open. Anyhooo, I wouldn't miss out on much if it was gone.

I get magazines by mail too, I prefer to read things by mail instead of online, books too instead of always digital...well, things like kindle wouldnt be around anyway? Hmm another thing less for people to do.

THAT'S what we did...read books & magazines, wrote on paper & sent real greeting/thank you cards written with pens & pencils because there were no computer egreetings.. We'd have to go aaall back to that if internet was gone one day..
